Brazil is home to the longest beach in the world, registered in the Guinness Book. At 254 kilometers long, Cassino Beach is so long that it can be seen from space.

Located in Rio Grande do Sul, Cassino Beach stretches from Rio Grande to Santa Vitória do Palmar, on the border with Uruguay. Its impressive length attracts tourists looking for unique adventures.

The most urbanized part of the beach is in Rio Grande, 321 km from Porto Alegre. Many visitors venture along its entire length by bicycle or 4x4 vehicle.

With wide, white sands that reach 200 meters in some spots, Cassino Beach is ideal for parking vehicles and enjoying the scenery. The place is perfect for buggy rides, walks and sports on the sand.

The waves and strong winds make Cassino a paradise for water sports, such as surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. It is the ideal destination for those seeking adrenaline and contact with nature.

At Molhes da Barra, you can cross by cart and observe the port and Lagoa dos Patos. The experience lasts 20 minutes and delights visitors every year.

12 km from the main avenue is the Altair ship, which sank in 1976. Today, it is a tourist attraction that combines history and adventure.

For bird lovers, the Taim Ecological Station, 80 km from the beach, is a must-see. With 32 thousand hectares, it is home to alligators, mammals and migratory birds in a unique ecosystem. (Photos: Reproduction/Youtube/Luis Silva)

The beach has several spots that attract visitors every year. At Molhes da Barra, there is a 20-minute boat ride (paid attraction). At the end, you can visit the viewpoint to observe the port and Lagoa dos Patos.

12 km from the main avenue, you will find the shipwreck Altair. After a strong storm, the cargo ship ran aground in June 1976, loaded with wheat, and became a tourist attraction.

Another activity that is very popular with tourists at Cassino is bird watching. About 80 km from the most popular part of the beach is the Taim Ecological Station.

The reserve has 32 thousand hectares, with a vast lagoon system partially formed by the Mirim, Jacaré, Nicola and Mangueira lagoons. Protected by law, the site is home to 30 species of mammals, as well as reptiles such as broad-snouted caimans and migratory birds.

Further south, 135 km from Rio Grande, is the Albardão lighthouse. The 44-meter concrete structure is impressive. It was built in the early 20th century to assist ships arriving along the southern coast of Brazil.

The site is administered by the Brazilian Navy and hosts a radio station to assist navigators. It is possible to visit the inside of the lighthouse, learn about its structure and enjoy an incredible view of the region.
